By: Jordan Sunshine: Ski Buyer | September 22, 2023

The leaves are turning, mornings are a little cooler, and when the wind blows right, you can imagine winter’s imminent arrival. So it’s time to get the gear out of the closet, go over your equipment, and lust after new skis. Indulge yourself. No one has ever regretted buying new skis, and winter is right around the corner!

New This Year:

The 2024 ski landscape is embracing versatility with the emergence of more approachable do-everything skis, marking a shift towards designs that cater to a broader spectrum of skiers. The integration of profiled metal and tail rocker in many models is a game changer, offering a blend of stability, ease of turn initiation, and playful performance. These innovations are not only lowering the entry barrier for novice riders but also providing seasoned skiers with adaptable options for varying terrains and conditions. The blend of profiled metal provides a smooth yet energetic ride, while the tail rocker adds a playful dimension, making each descent a unique adventure. The continuous evolution in ski design underscores the industry's commitment to enhancing the skiing experience for riders of all levels, ensuring there's a perfect pair of skis for every enthusiast out there.

Atomic Bent 110 Skis 2024

Atomic Bent 110

The philosophy of taking your tricks out of the park and into the pow has been a trend that suited the Bent Chetler line of skis perfectly, but for years, skiers had to choose between the powder hungry 120 and the more low tide-oriented 100. No longer. The Atomic Bent 110 Skis fill the niche so perfectly that they've quickly become the fastest skis to sell out at evo in a long, long while. With an all-purpose twin shape, Combining Powder Rocker with HRZN tips and tails for better float in the deep, and a relatively light construction that lends itself to creativity in the air, the Bent 110 does it all with a big smile.

Alex, Digital Content Manager: "I found the new ARV 100 to have a very good balance of forgiveness and playfulness at lower speeds, without feeling gutless or floppy at higher speeds - in fact, I was impressed by how much I could push it all while being able to control turn shape with ease. Jordan Sunshine

I was born and raised in northern Vermont and moved west as soon as I turned 18. I bounced around the PNW for a while eventually following evo’s store openings to Denver where I have called home since and although I will always take even the wettest of pow days, have come to appreciate any day skiing in the sun, be it with friends or my kids.

I have been skiing since I was 2 and started working in a ski shop when I was 14, which was way more fun than washing dishes. Over the years I have worked as a ski tech, boot fitter, liftie, product copywriter, and eventually came to manage evo’s Portland and Denver stores. Now I am the Ski Buyer, overseeing ski hardgoods and backcountry accessories.
